Spring 2012

Students will be able to login to courses by 8 A.M. on the first day of the term.
  • 16 week (and 1st 8 week) courses open January 9
  • 12 week courses open February 7
  • Second 8 week courses open March 7

Below are the access dates for the Spring 2012 semester:
  • 16 week courses: January 19
  • 12 week courses: February 14
  • First 8 week courses: January 12
  • Second 8 week courses: March 12

Students in fully online courses must access their courses and complete the listed Start-Up Activities for the first time between the start of the term and the above access dates that relate to each of your courses. If your course is blended, you must either access your course in Moodle and complete the listed Start-Up Activity OR attend a scheduled class session on or before the last access date. If you don't, you will not be allowed to continue in the course. (Please check with your instructor for more information.)

Please note, your course doesn't start when you access it. It starts when the term begins. There are assignments due before the last access date. Extra time is not given for assignments you missed by not logging in at the start of the term.

All SPCC online, blended, and web-enhanced course sites are in Moodle.

How do I log in?
Logging into Moodle is easy! A username and password have been created for you.

Your username is the first initial of your first name, the first three letters of your last name, and the last four numbers of your student ID number. You can find your ID number on your registration form.

Your initial password is Tempmmdd+, this is the word Temp beginning with a capital T, your two digit birth month, the two digit birth day, followed by a plus sign.

When you login to Moodle for the first time, we highly recommend that you change your password. In order to change your password:

1) After you login, click your name in the upper right-hand corner of your Moodle screen.
2) Click the “Change password” box.
3) Type your Current password (that you just used to login).
4) Type your New Password into both “New password” boxes. (The new password must have at least 8 characters, at least 1 digit, at least 1 lower case letter, and at least 1 upper case letter.)
5) Click the “Save Changes” box. Your password will now be changed.

So, how do I get to my courses?
Once you've logged in, click on your name in the upper right-hand corner. The courses you are registered for are listed there. Click on the name of the course you want to access and you'll be taken there. To get to the course start page, just click the course name near the top of the page. It will be just after the word "Home."
